The 10-day 17th Regional-level Saras Mela is going to start at the International Mela campus in Hapania from January 17 next. It will continue till January 26.

A meeting of Cultural sub-committee was held at the conference hall of Tripura Constituent Assembly on December 28.

The meeting was presided over by the Speaker of the assembly Ratan Chakraborty.

In the meeting he emphasized on celebrating the 17th Regional Saras Mela with pomp and gaiety on the occasion of 50th Tripura Statehood Day, 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and North-eastern Cultural festival.

 According to the decision taken in the meeting, artistes from the state and outside the state will be performing in the 10-day Regional Saras Mela. Other dignitaries present in the meeting were Director of Information &Cultural Affairs department Ratan Biswas, Senior Deputy Magistrate Debashish Das, Principal of S.D Burman Memorial Music University Tripti Wapte, Vice-Chairman of State-Level Cultural Advisory Committee Subhash Deb, Director of DRDA department Pintu Lal Saha, representatives of TRLM and other officials.
