Addressing the gathering, Mr. Khandu said the North East has made tremendous progress in tourism sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a video message, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat asserted the government’s commitment to the progress of the region in tourism.

Akashvani correspondent reports that the International Tourism Mart is a flagship annual event organised by the Ministry of Tourism, aimed at showcasing the tourism potential of the North Eastern Region to both domestic and international audiences as a unified tourism destination. The Mart highlights the diversity of the region’s offerings, ranging from eco-tourism and adventure activities like trekking, river rafting, and paragliding, to wellness, spiritual, rural, wildlife, and cultural heritage tourism.

The event serves as a vital platform for bringing together tourism businesses and entrepreneurs from the North Eastern states, fostering collaboration and interaction among buyers, sellers, media, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
