Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb till date 12.58 lakhs Ayushman Cards have been distributed in the state so far as he launched the special drive Chief Minister Sustho Shoishob Sustho Kaishore Abhiyaan at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Tuesday. 

The Chief Minister who also holds the Heath portfolio said According to the Chief Minister, e-service was also launched in 21 hospitals and the process to introduce the same facility in 23 hospitals was underway.

‘Besides, 116 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) were upgraded to Community Health Centres (CHCs) across the state till date”, he added.

“In Agartala Municipal Corporation area, OPD service (specialty) has been introduced in five PHCs. Besides, 24×7 healthcare service has been introduced in seven more PHCs,” Deb said at a programme in the city.

The programme will be implemented across the state from September 1 to 15 next for de-worming and diarrhoea control among around 12.80 lakh children and adolescents (0-19 years).

 

Apart from the de-worming programme, Vitamin-A supplementation, Iron Folic Acid (IFA) Supplementation would also be provided. Deworming tablets (Albendazole 400 mg) and Vitamin-A supplementation would be administered at the household by the Front Line Workers in the presence of the parent/ guardian/ caregiver while ORS, Zinc tablet (IDCF programme), and IFA syrup/ pink/ blue tablets (IFA supplementation) would be distributed to the target population to consume as per requirement and protocol.

The programme has been initiated by the Health and Family Welfare department in collaboration with the Education department and Social Welfare and Social Education department.

“The key objective of the programme is to build a disease-free and safe future for the new generation,” the Chief Minister said.

He also claimed that the healthcare service in the state had witnessed a robust change after formation of the BJP-IPFT government, following which the number of refer cases outside the state had decreased.

Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, Principal Secretary (Health) J.K. Sinha and Tripura Mission Director of NHM Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal among others were present in the launching programme.
