
In a remarkable achievement on the global literary arena, 12-year-old Oindrila Chakraborty, originally from Tripura and currently residing in the United Arab Emirates, has been honored with a Certificate of Recognition for her exceptional storytelling.
Her submission to the prestigious Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition 2024, organized by the Emirates Literature Foundation, earned accolades and showcased her burgeoning talent as a storyteller.
Oindrila, a diligent seventh grader at a British school in the UAE, has demonstrated her literary prowess under the keen eye of esteemed author Kathy Hoopman, who judged the competition.
This accolade follows her previous success of securing third place in the Young Authors Competition in India, further solidifying her position as a rising star in the literary world.
Her engaging narrative is featured in “The Great Indian Teen Fiction Collective,” an anthology published by Notion Press, celebrating young talent.
The young author’s journey began early, with her first fiction, “The Adventures of the Legendary Queen,” published at just 11 years old. The book, a testament to her vivid imagination and storytelling ability, is available worldwide, including at the Agartala Bookfair, signaling a promising future for this young literary sensation. Oindrila’s parents, Dr. Manishankar Chakraborty and Dr. Aasawari Chakraborty, attribute her success to divine grace and the unwavering support of her well-wishers.
