Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that 11 lakh women have become Lakhpati Didis within 100 days of the newly formed government.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr. Chouhan informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present certificates to Didis in an event at Jalgaon in Maharashtra on the 25th of this month. He said that around one lakh Didis are expected to participate in the Jalgaon event. He added that apart from this, the certificate will also be provided at events organised in various parts of the country.

Mr. Chouhan said that on the occasion, Mr. Modi will also release a two thousand 500 crore rupee fund for self-help groups. This fund will benefit four lakh SHGs across the country. The Minister said that the Prime Minister will also interact with Lakhpati Didis and will also release a loan amount of five thousand crore rupees for SHGs.
Around one crore 50 lakh Didis will join the event virtually at various locations in the country. The Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an ambitious target to make 3 crore Didis in the country.
