The Government has invited one hundred beneficiaries, along with their spouses, under the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme as special guests to witness the Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort in New Delhi tomorrow. These beneficiaries are from both rural and urban areas, representing various states, including six North Eastern states and six Union Territories. Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi and Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje will also host a lunch on Independence Day in honour of the special guests. They will also be visiting historic monuments in Delhi. The NSSH Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship among the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), and to fulfil the mandated four percent procurement from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe-owned Micro and Small Enterprises under the Public Procurement Policy. At present, 1.48 lakh SC and ST entrepreneurs are availing benefits under the NSSH Scheme.
